Misty was born and raised in the DFW metroplex. Her parents instilled in her the value of hard work and honesty from a young age, and these qualities ultimately led to an academic scholarship to Southern Methodist University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with degrees in Political Science and Broadcast Journalism.
Years later, Misty fulfilled childhood goal when she returned to SMU to attend law school. To fund her education and cover her living expenses, she made the unusual decision to continue her full-time job in the transportation industry where she managed the operations of an intermodal freight brokerage company. Balancing long work hours with the demands of law school and a young family was a challenge and taught Misty how to carefully prioritize her commitments in order to obtain the optimal results possible in each aspect of her life – while remaining true to herself.
Her hard work paid off when Misty eventually graduated from SMU on schedule and began her legal career. Since then, she has represented businesses and individuals in a variety of matters; incorporating both her litigation and transactional skills to achieve her client’s desired outcome. Misty’s years of experience outside the legal arena give her a fresh perspective, and her attention to detail and commitment to excellence give her clients the competitive edge they are looking for.
Misty and her family are proud to be residents of Ellis County, where she grew up. Her family is active in their church and community, and she enjoys staying busy (trying) to keep up with her kids’ many activities.
